Together we Learn to Read and Write
An entry into a new form.
I didn’t know what to call the first post.
But these words came through:
Together we Learn to Read and Write.
And you know that's what we do every day on earth, we read the stories life gives us and we write new stories. What I have mainly been doing as an artist and a shamanic constellationeer is to work out what the filters are that we read with and what the skills are that we bring to the writing.
Working with narratives and placing ourselves in a clear place from which to work is what I have found most effective.
The joy I get form this work is a) living in the heart of creative spirit and b) seeing creative spirit ignite and move through the lives and lands of the people I work with and my own life and lands.
We are magicians operating in an incredible universe of interactions and potential. These pages and this account introduce you to an archive of creative ideas, learning and heartfelt writings for inspiration and for resourcing your journey.
The story of the earth is being rewritten by those who sense and reach out for much more.

Here’s some words about it!
Trees are our Letters is a book that will take any ordinary person on a writing retreat with the trees. The trees and your availability to be present for and with them are the teachers! I have written a book and a programme that can be accessed by children, teenagers and adults of all ages, and especially for people who are interested in opening up to their writing skills and creativity alongside nature. I am hoping that the end product of your working with this book will be the living of a deeper connection between you and nature and an entry into new creative ways of writing and living. Beyond that you and the trees are in charge!
Ordinary people and ordinary trees want to be linked together again. Trees are our Letters is a truth that comes from one of the ancient systems of writing in which each tree sound has formed the vowel or consonant sounds of most of the English language. It seemed perfectly ordinary for me to write a book that would give space for this original language to connect us back with the trees and all the other things the trees are so good at connecting with.
Your author is an artist and an educator. I went to art college to study art and then I got so into trying to understand how art and its communication systems worked that I went on to learn primary school education and find out from the masters of creativity themselves: young children. Most of what I have learnt about connection has been through my own disconnect and through observing and working with children. My mantra is that play is the best way to learn and playing in nature is the best way to reconnect and open. I really want this book to help all the ordinary people like me and you and everyone to play again!
Trees are our Letters is an informative, creative, soulful and meditative journey with ten of our planet’s species of trees. It can be picked up and opened at any page and you can take your time. Or, it can be worked through as a pilgrimage treat for yourself in your everyday life as one hundred days with ten trees. You will find yourself writing prose, poetry, the beginnings to a novel, short stories, songs, recipes and all manner of things on the journey! You will emerge with ten new loyal tree friends, sturdy in character and unique in the gifts and counselling they bring, who I am sure will open the doors to make you want to befriend many more!
